SERVING RHODE ISLANDERS SINCE 2010
HOT TOPIC: Is it Lyme or is it COVID-19?
Lyme Newport is a community that offers support, fellowship and understanding to those suffering from Lyme and other Tick-borne diseases. The group is facilitated by Jane Barrows who brings her wealth of knowledge and experience with these virulent diseases to those seeking guidance and relief. Jane is a source of information for "All Things Lyme".
Jane, a lifelong resident of Rhode Island, has dedicated the past 11 years of her life pursuing an understanding of the complexities and ramifications of Lyme Disease & Co-infections.…testing, diagnosis, and treatment. Jane also advocates for regulatory changes to get Lyme and Tick Borne disease patients access to the best available medical treatments while also connecting them to Lyme Literate physicians. A sufferer herself, Jane has worked tirelessly to bring greater awareness to these undiagnosed and under-reported diseases. Along with facilitating a monthly Support Group Meeting, Jane spends countless hours advocating for victims with these debilitating infections. Through an ever-expanding network impacted by this poorly understood epidemic, Jane has acquired an encyclopedic knowledge of the multitude of Tick-borne Illnesses and their treatment. It is this information that she offers on this website, and by appointment to those who wish to consult with her on an individual basis.
Jane Barrows is not a physician and all information provided is purely based on her extensive individual research and experiences and should be considered accordingly.

By supporting our various fundraising efforts, or by making private donations, you make it possible for us to work with Lyme-literate physicians and assist individuals suspected of having Lyme disease obtain proper testing. These funds also make it possible for us to do things such as create printed materials for public distribution, purchase Lyme disease related books for our library, purchase and install signs to raise public awareness, and provide resourceful materials in relation to tick prevention, symptoms, and Lyme disease treatment. Attendance at local and national conferences would not be possible without the financial support of the people who believe in our mission. Lyme Newport is a non-profit 501(c) 3 corporation and all contributions are fully tax-deductible.
